I know I've been busy playing with my friends and cutting a second tooth. That's right. I now have two bottom teeth. Yay me! I also had my 6 month check up on Aug 4th. I only grew a half inch, I'm now 28 inches and gained a little over a pound. I'm now 17 lbs 10 oz. I did great with my shots. I cried of course when I got them. They hurt!! But Mommy held me for a little bit and then I was okay. Still doing well, and now eating some more formula and cereal twice a day.

I wanted to tell you the exciting news real quick. My first tooth has broken through! Yay me!!

First Day

I had a terrific first day of daycare. I didn't fuss much, took good naps and finished my bottles. It was fun! There were other babies to look at too. I think mom had a rough day without me, but I had a good time. I can't wait to go back tomorrow!!

Mom broke the news to me, so I'm breaking it to you. I start daycare soon. Apparently, she got a full-time job and it'll be too much to take care of me at home AND work. So off I go... with my big sister. I start on Monday. I'm nervous, but I bet Mom's freaking out!

Tummy time has been fun. I can hold myself up. I love being on the floor and rolling around. It's a lot of fun. I also like my exersaucer now. I can really move around it and play with all the toys. It's pretty cool. The one of me ins the swing, is how I like it. Don't worry, mom got me out of it, but not before snapping a couple of pictures. That's just how I roll.

So mom took me to the dermatologist yesterday for my eczema and cradle cap. It's no big deal, I'm not embarrassed about it. It happens to the best of us. Anyway, she got all kinds of prescriptions for me and some things she could find at the store. The samples we got, this foam stuff for my head, works great. It looks like my cradle cap is gone. How awesome is that?!? She needs to pick up the real prescriptions today since the pharmacy had to order them. But my head feels so much better already. I'll get mom to take a picture at some point. But in the meantime, enjoy this one from a few days ago.

I finally got to sneak back on mom's computer. She's great and all, but man is she on this thing a lot. Anyway, I've been cutting her a little slack lately. I actually go to bed around 8pm and stay asleep until morning. I know that makes her happy. Plus, and I wouldn't tell her this, but my bed is more comfortable than the swing. It's even more fun now that I have my own personal picture show! It plays music and makes nature sounds. It's pretty cool.

I've also let mom snap a few pictures of me smiling. I smile all the time for her and she can really get me giggling, but I'm not so sure when she gets that camera out. I can't see her anymore. But she's been trying so hard to get a few pictures of me smiling that I finally gave in. I have one here with my post too. I'm a little messy from eating, but I still think it's a good one.

I know Mom means well, but she's just not updating this thing like she should. So I'm taking it over. She's not updating pictures or anything. Geesh. The world needs to see how cute I am. And I know you want to hear how big I'm getting. Did you know that my 4 month appt was last week? I'm now 27.5 inches and 16lbs 9oz. And I got these really painful shots too. Then the nurse tries to make me drink my last vaccination. She probably should have done that first, ya know?!?

Even this picture of me is kinda old. Mom took this like 6 weeks ago. She really needs to get with the program. Maybe I'll start posing more so she snaps more photos. I know she had a really good photo opportunity at the pool on Sunday. But she was too busy trying to get me in that floaty thing. I did not like that one bit. At least she listens when I scream. Maybe not right away, but she finally got the picture and kept me out of the pool.

That's all I have for right now. I'll sneak on her computer another time and let you know more.

2 month appt

Kiera had her 2 month appt on Monday. She's getting SO big. She's now 14lbs 7oz and 25 inches long. It's puts her in the 99th and 98th percentiles. She looks like she's about 5 or 6 months old instead of 2 months old. It's really amazing. I'll have to post another pic or two when I get them off my camera.

2 week appt.

Kiera turned 2 weeks old on Wednesday and had her checkup. She measured 22 inches long and weighed a whopping 9 lbs 11oz. She gained almost a pound in a little over a week. It's amazing. Everything else was great with her except she does have a little eye infection (in both eyes), which does seem to be clearing up now. She's also really congested. I think that might be clearing up some too, but it's difficult to tell. Other than that, she's a very healthy girl!!

Kiera was born at 1:28pm on February 4th. She weighed 8 lbs 10oz and was 21.75 inches long. She's quite the big baby and growing well!

The birth was fairly simple since it was a scheduled c-section. We got to the hospital early and then went back to the pre-op room. Not much exciting happened until I got my surgical epidural. As the epidural took effect, my blood pressure took quite a drop - down to 70 over 40. They had to administer some drugs to counteract the drop in blood pressure. Once my blood pressure was stabilized, I was ready for my c-section.

When I was in the operating room and they were moving me onto the table, my epidural line got pulled out. They were able to put it back, but had to shorten the line. In the recovery room, they pulled it out again and this time it stayed out. So, I was off my epidural a lot earlier than I should have been, but that worked out okay. I was able to leave the hospital on Saturday, February 7th, instead of staying another day. I was quite happy to be home.
